MOSHIK NADAV

Nadav’s father was a graphic designer and a calligrapher, so Nadav has always been in the face of typographic design. Much of his design work is heavily influenced by what he saw his father created. His distinct style can be attributed to his love of fashion and the admiration of the female form.

Ray larabie

Canadian typographic designer Ray Larabie is the man behind many typographic endeavors. From creating both open type and true type font files and the Coolvetica typeface, to creating the typefaces for popular video games Grand Theft Auto and Mass Effect, Larabie has a variety of clientel and personal work.

David Carson

Carson is known for his experimental and grungy typographic work, and holds many titles to his name. Ranging from being a graphic designer and art director to professional surfer, it’s safe to say Carson has a variety of experience under his belt. Carson is most known for his experimentation with magazine design and the Ray Gun typeface, and his work with Ray-Bans, Nine Inch Nails, MTV, and many other well-established names.

Ahn sang-soo

Known as the godfather of Korean typography, Ahn Sang-Soo is known for his experimentation in typography. More often than not, Sang-Soo’s work is seen as a work of fine art, and not typographic design. The Korean alphabet has always had a strict form, but Sang-Soo has broken the standard of traditional design, and paved the road for experimental type in Korea.

zuzana licko

Licko is most commonly recognized for her typefaces Mrs. Eaves, a traditional serif, and Oakland, a bitmapped typeface.
Licko and her husband worked together to create some of the first digital typeface designs and digital page layouts, and later formed type foundry Emigre with her husband.

jeremy dooley

Join us in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom at 3:15 PM as Chattanooga-based typographer Jeremy Dooley, founder of Insigne, speaks on his design process. From his experiences from traveling the world to creating the first typeface for an American city, Dooley has gathered a mass of inspiration.
